  1. St. Paul's Lutheran Church was formally dedicated in June 1930 during the time when my grandfather, Rev. Paul E. Meyer, was the resident Pastor. He had been called as a missionary to the District in 1911 just out of the seminary. Construction began in 1922 and services were sometimes held in the partially completed basement. The cornerstone was formally laid in 1929. The architecture of the building is a very traditional Lutheran style of that time. The original adjacent parsonage was actually built before the church. (My mother was born in Lewistown in 1915.) Rev. Meyer served in the area from 1911-1932. The parsonage was sold and relocated to make room for the educational building which was added in the early 1960's. The church building & school were sold to the Central Montana Christian School in 1987 and the congregation relocated to the new church building on "C" street in 1988. The church bldg and school were later largely abandoned and is now occasionally used as a dance studio and for other activities. I may have further details if interested.
