Bethel Baptist Church, Casper Wyoming
The Bethel Baptist Church in Casper, Wyoming is located in the Sunrise area indicating that it was likely built during the 1960s. It features modern architecture.

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Casper Wyoming
This is another Lutheran Church, this one from a different branch of the Lutheran faith, in east Casper, Wyoming. The church is a modern architectural structure. I'm unaware of when it was built, but it was likely in the 1960s.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Casper Wyoming.
This is Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Casper, Wyoming which is a North American Lutheran Church member. This church is fairly modern, although I don't know the date of its construction. Occupying a hill in east Casper, the church has an attractive external appearance.

First Church of the Nazarene, Casper Wyoming
This church is one of a couple of protestant churches located in the Allendale region of Casper, Wyoming. I'm not sure of its vintage, but by appearance it likely was built in the 1950s, about the same time that Allendale expanded as what was originally an unincorporated portion of Casper.
The Church of the Nazarene is an offshoot of Methodism.

Sunrise Baptist Church, Casper Wyoming
This small Baptist Church in south Casper has a location that gives a good view of Casper Mountain, although its unconventional shape doesn't have any windows.
Other than its denomination, and its unconventional architecture, I don't know anything else about this particular Casper church.

Carpenter United Methodist Church, Carpenter Wyoming.
This is the Carpenter United Methodist Church in Carpenter, Wyoming.
Carpenter is a very small, but still there, town in southeastern Wyoming. Indeed the town is almost in Colorado and and is has much of the character of western Nebraska. Founded as a railroad town, the town hangs on in spite of its very small size and is quite isolated.
This church was obviously built early on as a Prairie Goth style church and then modified, probably in the 1970s, to have a new entry way. The entry way is architecturally inconsistent with the remainder of the church so the exact thinking of the addition isn't obvious to an outside viewer.

Covenant Lutheran Church, Wheatland Wyoming
This is Covenant Lutheran Church in Wheatland Wyoming.
This church is a modified modern style church, featuring some traditional elements that recall Prairie Gothic style architecture, but which also is updated to a modern look contemporary for when it was built. When that was, I'm not exactly certain of.
First Christian Church, Wheatland Wyoming
When I started this blog I only intended to catalog traditional architecture, but I've obviously strayed away from that policy a lot, and nearly right from the onset. I still think of going back to it from time to time, but I have not.
I guess that's a bit of a disclaimer for this post, and for being a bit more blunt on some of this than I used to be. This is the First Christian Church in Wheatland Wyoming. I'm not sure when this church was built, but it was fairly recently.
It's a nice attractive looking building, but it's largely devoid of traditional church architecture. But for a few embellishments a person wouldn't immediately assume that it's a church. One of those embellishments is the corner piece holding a bell, which is a feature designed, no doubt, to cause those observing it to realize that this is a church. Otherwise, it wouldn't be immediately apparent.
Now, I don't mean to fault anyone for architecture of this type. This is not an ugly building. And traditional structures are expensive unless you go with the Prairie Gothic style of church which few do anymore. Still, there's something for the position that churches were designed the way that they were for a reason. Still, if you aren't, at least this is an attractive structure.

St. Anthony Catholic Church, Guernsey Wyoming
This modern architecture church is St. Anthony Catholic Church in Guernsey Wyoming, the training headquarters of the Wyoming Army National Guard and a farming, ranching and railroad community. The church is served by St. Rose of Lima in Torrington, which was posted here just the other day.
There are an unusual number of St. Anthony's Catholic Churches in Wyoming. I'm not sure how this came about, but there are at least four, including this one.

Christ United Methodist Church, Casper Wyoming
Another one of the many Casper churches I hadn't gotten around to photographing, Christ United Methodist Church as photographed out my Jeep windshield.
I don't know the history of this church but it likely dates to the 1950s. It hasn't always been a Methodist church and in fact was part of a swap by this congregation for another building they had to another denomination as each of their respective buildings worked better for the other.

Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Pinedale Wyoming
This is Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Pinedale, Wyoming. Construction of the church commenced in November, 1959 (in the winter!) and was completed in 1960. There are plans to renovate the church given the increase in parishioners over the years.

This is St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hanna, Wyoming. This modern Catholic church is located just on the edge of town where several other churches are located.
Latter Day Saints and Assemblies of God, Hanna Wyoming
This is the LDS church in Hanna Wyoming, with a very poor depiction of the Assemblies of God church to its left. Hanna has a collection of churches all very near each other on a hill on the edge of town.

United Presbyterian Church, Laramie Wyoming.
These are photographs of the United Presbyterian Church in Laramie. I'm unsure of the age of the church, but it's a large modern structure with some interesting traditional elements.
St. Andrew's Lutheran Church and Campus Center, Laramie Wyoming
This is the Lutheran St. Andrew's Church and Campus Center in Laramie. It's actually not very far away from another Lutheran church in Laramie, but presumably was built here to service the needs of Lutheran students at UW.
