Japanese Church of Christ, Salt Lake City Utah

This is the Japanese Church of Christ in Salt Lake City,. This is a Presbyterian and United Church of Christ church in what was formerly "Japantown" in Salt Lake City. The church was built in 1924.

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Salt Lake City Utah

This is Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Salt Lake City. This Greek Orthodox Cathedral was built in 1923, and is located in downtown Salt Lake.

The Cathedral is one of two Greek Orthodox churches in Salt Lake, both of which are part of the Metropolis of Denver. Salt Lake has at least three other Orthodox churches, however, including a Russian Orthodox Church and a Antiochian Orthodox Church. The Greek Orthodox Church in Salt Lake City also has a school.

Of interest, two of the three Greek Orthodox Churches in nearby Wyoming, which are also part of the Metropolis of Denver, are named Holy Family, including the church in Casper.

Lex Anteinternet: The Flying V Cambria Inn, Weston County Wyoming.

Lex Anteinternet: The Flying V Cambria Inn, Weston County Wyoming.:

This building, built as a resort in Weston County Wyoming, is included here as it has a substantial attached chapel.

The Flying V  Cambria Inn, in Weston County Wyoming, provides an interesting look into the early resort era of hotels.  Located near where the former Wyoming mining town of Cambria had been, it was built in the style of an English manor house.

The inn was built with a chapel, the side of which you see here.

St. Augustine By The Sea Catholic Church, Honolulu Hawaii

This is St. Augustine By The Sea Catholic Church just off of Wakiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.  The church dates its history back to 1845, but it's obviously been rebuilt several times, with the modern church's origin going back to 1910, with additions since then.  The current structure appears very modern, and I don't know of the date of its construction.

St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Hanna Wyoming

This is St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Hanna Wyoming, which according to the sign on the building was built in 1922.  They style is somewhat unusual, and not easily characterized, but it does have hints of Gothic styling.  The name "St. Mark's" is particularly associated with Episcopal churches in Wyoming.

St. Edward's Catholic Church, Wind River Reservation

These are photographs of St. Edward's Catholic Church, north of Riverton, Wyoming and near Kinnear. I had this one mislabeled earlier, so my apologies for any confusion. This church was moved to this location in 1977. It had originally been located in Pavillion, some miles away, and was built in 1924.

First Presbyterian Church, Cheyenne Wyoming

This is the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Cheyenne, Wyoming. The church was built in 1925. The church has a set of chimes that it uses daily at certain times, which are quite audible in downtown Cheyenne. The church is across the street from the Joseph C. O'Mahoney Federal Courthouse.

St. Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church, Laramie Wyoming

This is St. Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church in Laramie, Wyoming.

I'll confess that while I took this photograph, I took it quite a while back. In 1986, to be specific. But the church appears the same today, as it did then.

This parish has been in existence, under this name, for quite some time. The church depicted here, however, was dedicated in 1926. The church is one of two Catholic churches in Laramie, the other being a Newman Center.

I've always thought the roof tiles of this church to be both unique, and attractive.

First Presbytrian Church, Tulsa Oklahoma

This is the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. As is obvious from the photograph, this church was undergoing extensive construction at the time I photographed it in October, 2011. The church was built in 1926.

Like the nearby Roman Catholic Holy Family Cathedral, this church as both Gothic and Romanesque features.

St. Ignatius Loyala Roman Catholic Church, Denver Coloado

This church located in a busy section of Denver, quite near City Park, is St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church. A school by that name, which it supports, is next door.

The church was completed in 1924 and is a Jesuit church.

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, and St. Cajetan, Roman Catholic Church, Denver Colorado

This is not a great photograph, as I only happened to notice the church in the forefront, which I otherwise had missed, when looking out a hotel window. It wasn't until I viewed the photograph that I realized there were two churches in the photo.

The near church is St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in downtown Denver. It borders the university, and was built between 1898 and 1902. It was originally a church that was the Roman Catholic church for German Catholics in Denver. It's built in the Romanesque style.

A church which is slightly deeper in the photograph, to the right of St. Elizabeth's, is St. Cajetan's Roman Catholic Church. This church was built in 1924 to serve the Hispanic community of Denver, replacing an older church also by that name. It is a Gothic architecture church.

Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Lander Wyoming

These photographs depict Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lander Wyoming. The same grounds are the temporary grounds for the Wyoming Catholic College.

I am unsure when this church was built. A preserved 1928 corner stone for the original Holy Rosary church is preserved as a memorial, but obviously, this church was not built in 1928.

This church is a bit unique in that, while it is a Roman Catholic Church, it does feature an Eastern Rite Mass (Byzantine Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom) such as is used in Ukrainian Catholic Churches. This is done in order to accommodate Eastern Rite Catholics attending the College.

St. Stephens Mission, St. Stephens Wyoming, Wind River Indian Reservation

This photograph depicts the Roman Catholic Mission church at St. Stephens, Wyoming. The Mission itself, established by the Jesuits, dates to May 1884. The original church was destroyed by a fire in 1928, and I presume the current one was built shortly thereafter.

I'm not sure what this building was originally constructed as, or what its complete function is today, although it does house the post office at St. Stephens. It's next to the church.

St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Glenrock Wyoming

This tiny Roman Catholic Church is located in the small town of Glenrock Wyoming. The Parish Priest for this church is a Jesuit, which probably indicates that the parish is regarded as a mission parish in Wyoming.

The parish was founded in 1920. I am not sure if this particular church was the original church building, but it likely is.
