United Methodist Church, Hillsdale Wyoming

This is the United Methodist Church in Hillsdale Wyoming.  Hillsdale is a very small Laramie County town which was probably more viable at some point in the past than it is now, but it's still a town and this church is still an active church is spite of the very small population of that town.

Seward Memorial Methodist Church (and Resurrection Lutheran church), Seward Alaska

This is a Methodist Church in Seward Alaska.  Other than that, I can't relate anything else about it including age, etc.  Resurrection Lutheran Church, which I didn't otherwise photograph, is visible immediately behind it.

Casa Oracion, Green River Wyoming

This small Prairie Gothic style church in the courthouse district of Green River, Wyoming is now used by this Protestant Spanish language church.  Other than that, I don't know anything about it.

Private Chapel, Pathfinder Ranch, Wyoming

Private churches or chapels were once common in England, but they're rare in the United States, and particularly rare in the Western United Statas, but here's an example, a private chapel on the large Pathfinder Ranch in Natrona and Carbon Counties, Wyoming.

These photographs were taken from just off the highway, when I had to stop to make a cell phone call, and are taken with two different lenses, one being the Pentax lens my K-x came equipped with, and the other being a Vivitar telephoto lens built for a Pentax film camera. Pentax digital DSLs will use the old Pentax bayonet mount lenses if the camera is set on the manual settings.

All Saints Episcopal Church, Wheatland Wyoming

This is All Saints Episcopal Church in Wheatland Wyoming.  I don't know the vintage of the structure, but there are a couple of "historic" renderings of it in the form of drawings, to it does date back some decades.   the architecture of the church is a bit unusual, so its style is a bit difficult to characterize.

Emmanuel Apostolic Temple, Laramie Wyoming

This is an older church located in West Laramie, Wyoming.  The sign on the church identifies it as the Emmanuel Apostolic Temple. Given the appearance of the church, and its location, it was almost certainly built for some other Protestant congregation many years ago, but I otherwise know nothing about it.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Meeteetse Wyoming

This is St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Meeteetse, Wyoming.  While you can see them in this photo, it isn't obvious that there are currently a series of jacks supporting what would be the wall on the right side of the photograph.

This is by appearances an older church, but I don't know the details on it.

St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Meeteetse Wyoming

This is St. Theresa Catholic Church in Meeteetse Wyoming. The church was built in 1915 in Cody, and later moved to this location.  It is served by St. Anthony of Padua Church in Cody.

St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Worland Wyoming

This church was a bit of a surprise as I wasn't aware there was a Greek Orthodox Church in Worland.  I don't know anything else about it.  The structure is interesting as it's sort of a modified Prairie Gothic structure.

St. Philip's Catholic Church & ELCA Peace Lutheran Fellowship, Basin Wyoming

A few photographs below I had a photo of a combined Presbyterian and Methodist congregation in Thermopolis Wyoming, and here we have an example of a Church that serves, or at least at one time served, both Lutheran and Catholic congregations.  This is St. Philip's Catholic Church in Basin.  Dual congregations like this are unusual, but not completely unprecedented. St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Casper, for example, at one time also served the Greek Orthodox community there prior the Greek Orthodox Church in Casper being built.  This one is a bit more unusual as it served Catholic and Protestant congregations.  Apparently right now no Catholic masses are being offered here, however, and the Catholic community is being served by the nearby church in Greybull

Sometimes churches are extraordinarily hard to photograph because of external features, and this one fits that category.  The very large pine trees in the front make photographing this church a difficult task and this photograph is not the best.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Basin Wyoming

This is St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Basin Wyoming.  This small town Episcopal Church fits into the Gothic style, in our view.  I don't know anything else about it, other than that its coloration is unusual for a wooden church.

The Father's House, Crow Agency Montana

This is, admittedly, an odd photograph, and not intended to be disrespectful, but it is a bit startling in a way.  This is The Father's House, a church in Crow Agency, Montana.  The church shares a parking lot with a casino, hence the sign.  From what little I can determine, this Prairie Gothic style church was built as a Catholic Church and was at some point moved to this location.

We unfortunately did not get the opportunity to stop and take a proper photograph, but in the future, if we get the chance, we will.  The reason that we didn't is that a lightening caused grass fire was roaring just outside of town, and it looked as if the highway might soon be closed.
